Member of Parliament Representing Prestatyn
At the most recent General Election on 5th May 2005, Chis Ruane (Lab) was re-elected MP for the Vale of Clwyd, one of the 646 constituencies of the United Kingdom. The election results for the Vale of Clwyd are shown below. Prior to the 1997 election, Prestatyn was situated in the constituency of Delyn. However, in the most recent 10-year review of the Boundary Commission in 1995, it was decided that the town's electoral wards should be transferred into a new seat called the Vale of Clwyd in readiness for the 1997 general election. Results shown for the Vale of Clwyd in 1992 are therefore notional ones, calculated from votes cast in 1992 in relevant parts of the former constituencies which then made up the area now covered by the Vale of Clwyd.
