History of the Nova
An outdoor swimming pool and ballroom was opened on the present Nova site in 1923 by Prestatyn Estates. It was taken over by the former Prestatyn Urban District Council in 1958, and was reconstructed and reopened as the Royal Lido in 1960. The complex was renovated in 1985, when the pool was covered and relaunched as the Nova. It now belongs to Denbighshire County Council. More information about the development of the Nova site can be found on the page of the former Prestatyn Urban District Council.
