Prestatyn is surrounded by many excellent golf courses. Within the immediate locality, there is the Prestatyn Championship Golf Course, located next to Barkby Beach and the Gronant Dunes Local Nature Reserve, and St. Melyd Golf Course, which is to be found on the lower slopes of Prestatyn Hillside. Several other golf courses are within the distance of a short drive.

Prestatyn Championship Golf Course To the east of the town, adjacent to Barkby Beach, is Prestatyn Championship Golf Course. It is a course for all seasons and every standard of player, but beware of the prevailing wind. The course is mostly flat with easy walking. As befits its status, it is a challenge, and with a par of 72, measures 6,808 yards from the championship tees. The excellent clubhouse has extensive members' and visitors' facilities, including a lounge, bar and full catering. The course features in the Welsh Golfing Union calendar, and their national championships are held at the club. Visitors can enjoy the challenge of playing a links championship course. St. Melyd Golf Course with Hillside Backdrop Just off Meliden Road, about half a mile from Prestatyn Town Centre, St. Melyd offers excellent golf at competitive prices. This beautifully maintained 9 hole parkland course has a challenging par of 68 and measures 5,839 yards from the medal tees.
