And they will be! The moment the colourful marquees open to the public on Friday at 1.00pm, the scene will be set for a show that combines form and beauty with good old fashioned competition. For weeks now, gardeners around the town have become secretive about the conditions of their fruit, vegetables and plants, shaking their heads sorrowfully and telling you they won't have anything worth showing this year, but, as usual, they are bound to turn up on the day with a potential 'BEST IN SHOW'! The Judges never fail to be amazed at the increased quality and standard every year of exhibits the folks of Prestatyn achieve. |
On Saturday The Rhyl Silver Band will entertain and a small Classic Car Show will be on display in Ty Nant Road, just off the High Street. Prize giving is at approx 3.30pm, when the Mayor of Prestatyn, Councillor Mark Cooper, will present the trophies. This will be followed by a hilarious charity auction, when local estate agent Peter Large will bring down the hammer on donated exhibits. There will be the chance to bid on anything from wine to enormous veg - one year a tiny pensioner staggered away under the weight of a cabbage twice the size of the top half of her body! Proceeds from the auction go to the St. Kentigern Hospice. |
The Flower Show Committee would like to welcome you to the show.
