"I would like to introduce myself as the new Town Business Manager for Prestatyn.

"I have been appointed to deliver an exciting three year project for the town. The role has been created through European Union Objective One funding and a working partnership with the Prestatyn and District Business Association and Economic Regeneration at Denbighshire County Council.

"Together, we aim to increase trade in the town by delivering a marketing programme agreed with Prestatyn and District Business Association and Economic Regeneration.

"The project aims to encourage local purchasing; create more local events; develop the use of information technology in the town; help businesses access appropriate grants, in particular the Welsh Development Agency’s Town Improvement Grant towards enhancing the exterior of buildings.

"I have been post since 4th March 2002 and have been busy working to create sustainable links with all the agencies and business support organisations so I can pass that information on to you. It has been a pleasure to work with the business association and I have been truly encouraged by their passion for this fantastic town and their pro-activity.

"My first initiative has been to create a comprehensive retail Business Directory for Prestatyn and District. The Directory will be distributed to local residents and businesses. I hope you will all take the opportunity to be listed and promote yourselves to local residents."

Please feel free to contact me at any time.

"Prestatyn and District Business Association have worked extremely hard over the years to help generate more business into the town, support local events and create working partnerships with both public and private bodies.

"Denbighshire County Council put us forward to benefit from this project (The DAPPER Project) because of our track record of pro-activity in the town.

"We have always had ideas and ambitions for the town but due to the constraints of running our businesses it was difficult to implement them. We are now delighted to benefit from the creation of Kate’s role as our ideas can now be implemented.

"The Business Association wholeheartedly supports Kate in her new and challenging role and we wish her every success – her success will be the town’s success too."
